Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.
